51st Annual Montgomery Art Guild Regions Bank Exhibition

Digital Submissions entries must be submitted by Thursday, August 24, 2017


ELIGIBILITY

Artists 18 years or older who are members of Montgomery Art Guild are eligible to enter the exhibition. Artists may submit up to 4 works of original art that have been completed within the past two years (2015 - 2017) and have not been previously shown in MAG Exhibitions.


FEES

A maximum of four entrees are allowed. Entry fee for first two works is $30. The third and fourth entrees are $10 each.
Student (18-21) entry fee for first two works is $9 each. The third and fourth entrees are $6 each.
Entry fees are nonrefundable and entrants must be current members of the Montgomery Art Guild.
Current membership dues are $50 annually.
Student membership dues are $25 annually. Students must send a copy of of a current school ID along wit
h the registration form.


DIGITAL ENTREES

All entries will be juried into the show based on digital images.

Artists submitting works in 2-dimensional categories must submit one image per work; Artists submitting works in 3-dimensional categories must submit 2 images per work.

This year the MAG is using a digital entry system called ArtCall.  Instructions for the call are as follows:

  1. You must use Firefox or Google Chrome Browser

  1. Register - in the upper right hand corner of the call page is a green REGISTER button.         

    1. Click on the button and fill in all of the requested information.

    2. To complete the registration you must pay membership fees, which are annually due in August.  If you have already payed membership fees you should have received a promocode via email. 

    3. After entering your payment information, click the CREATE ACCOUNT button.

  2. Login - Click the LOGIN button at the top right corner of the page.  Fill in the  information for creating your unique login. Click Login button. 

  3. Entry submittal - click on the MY APPLICATIONS in the upper right hand corner of the page. Note: You must submit a new application for each entry. 

    1. Fill in all the requested information

    2. City Hall Gallery - please type in either yes or no

    3. Add photo attachment - image length on longest side between 960 to 4600 px  - maximum file size for image 4 mb; File types - jpg or gif

    4. Complete and view entry

  4. Editing and tags - tags can be printed and entries edited on the completed application page. To print tags click on the blue printer icon box under Info. To edit the application information click on the orange EDIT button to the right of the photo.

After completing application, if you need to edit your entry DO NOT DELETE with the trash can icon - use the EDIT icon.

Use Monroe St. entrance to RSA Tower for all pickups and deliveries. Proper I.D. is required to claim works.


SPECIFICATIONS

All work must be dry and suitably framed. Gallery wrapped paintings will be accepted if canvas works are suitable for museum presentation (painted sides on heavy duty stretcher bars only). No Gicleé reproductions of original art in another medium will be permitted. (For example, no Gicleé prints of oils, acrylics, watercolors, etc.).

Works must hang by a secured wire. No sawtooth hangers. Two-dimensional framed works must not exceed 44 inches in height or width. Sculptures may not exceed 6‘ x 4‘ x 4’ (height x width x depth). Artists must make their own arrangements for works that require special hanging or placement (multi-sectional works, etc.).

A completed entry card must be attached to the back of each work. Regions Bank reserves the right to final discretion of the works selected for exhibition based upon appropriateness of content.

All work not accepted in the Regions Bank Show will be eligible for the City Hall Gallery Exhibition.

SALES

The Montgomery Art Guild will charge a 20% commission on the sale of works at this exhibit. If your work is not for sale, mark NFS on your entry form. We must have a price if it is for sale.

Individual artists are responsible for paying sales tax on artwork sold at the show.


LIABILITY

Every precaution will be exercised in the handling of the entries. However, the Montgomery Art Guild and Regions Bank will not be responsible for any damage or loss.

Works must be claimed during pick up time on Thursday October 12, between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. only. If unable to pick up work at designated time, please contact Enid Probst prior to October 1st. DO NOT CONTACT REGIONS BANK REGARDING PICK UP OF ARTWORK.

Proper I.D. is required of anyone picking up artwork.
Works claimed by someone other than the artist require a note with:

• Title of the work
• Name of the person picking up • Signature of the artist

Any unclaimed art after 5 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017, becomes the property of the Montgomery Art Guild and will be donated to Jackson Hospital Healing Arts Program.

JUROR

Allyson Comstock

Allyson Comstock is Professor and Chair at Auburn University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in studio art from Occidental College and Master of Fine Arts from Arizona State University. She is a National Science Foundation Antarctic Artist and Writers Grant recipient, has been awarded fellowships from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the Women’s Studio Workshop in New York, and has been artist-in- residence at the Ucross Foundation and the Hambidge Center. Her work has been shown in numerous solo, invitational and juried exhibitions, including shows at The Czong Institute for Contemporary Art, South Korea, the Ohio Craft Museum, the Delaware Contemporary Art Center, Kiang Gallery in Atlanta, and Blue Spiral I Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Mobile Museum of Art and the corporate collections of Sutherland, Asbill and Brenan and Wheat First Securities.
